When the weather refuses to make up its mind, Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 Men’s Pre-Collection has the answer.

Designed by Pharrell Williams, the latest collection imagines a wardrobe built for life between cities and continents, where a suitcase needs to accommodate everything from sunshine and rain to business meetings and weekend escapes.

At the centre of the collection is a playful exploration of rainwear, filtered through Louis Vuitton’s signature mix of luxury craftsmanship, travel heritage and contemporary menswear.

One of the strongest stories comes through the new Monogram Reporter pieces, which draw inspiration from 1980s workwear and vintage hiking gear. Weathered Monogram canvases appear in faded shades of blue and yellow, paired with rich cognac suede and leather details across jackets, bags and footwear.

The collection also gives classic rainwear a Louis Vuitton makeover. Fisherman’s slickers arrive in glossy calfskin leather, while puffers are elevated through tailoring fabrics woven with subtle Mini Monogram jacquards. Elsewhere, business suits take on a more relaxed attitude, and reversible knits offer two looks in one with cable-knit textures on one side and Monogram motifs on the other.

As expected from Pharrell, there is plenty of visual playfulness throughout.

A series of trompe l’oeil pieces blur the line between luxury materials and everyday essentials. Leather hoodies are printed to resemble soft grey sweatshirts, cashmere suits imitate denim, and silver-coated jackets appear as though they have just been caught in the rain.

The storytelling extends into the prints as well. One standout motif follows a young businessman travelling from New York to Paris as the conditions shift around him. The illustrated narrative appears across shirting, denim, travel accessories and leather goods.

The accessories deliver some of the collection’s most memorable moments. New versions of the House’s iconic bags arrive in faded Monogram Reporter canvases, washed denim finishes and jersey-inspired constructions. Among the highlights is an umbrella-shaped Monogram bag, while an exceptional Keepall features glossy three-dimensional raindrop embellishments.

Footwear follows a similar path. The LV Ranger boot embraces an outdoor-ready attitude with hiking-inspired soles and technical materials, while new versions of the LV Trainer, LV Drop and LV Titled sneakers incorporate weathered finishes, outdoor fabrics and mud-effect detailing.

The collection’s sense of humour carries through to the smaller details. Weather-inspired charms appear alongside miniature Speedy bags, locks and keys, while Louis Bear returns dressed in a tiny yellow raincoat.

Part practicality and part fantasy, the collection shows how Louis Vuitton can turn even the most unpredictable forecast into a reason to dress up.
